Job summary

Balls Food Stores is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk to create a welcoming bakery experience for guests. You will assist with packaging, selections, and ensuring displays are full and attractive.

Responsibilities include bakery product prep, stocking, labeling, and operating POS systems, while maintaining cleanliness and food safety. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Grocery/retail or food service experience preferred.
• Food safety knowledge preferred (certification a plus).
• Experience with baking, cooking, or kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, slicers) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service and maintain product presentation.
• Assist guests with product selection and allergen information.
• Package, label, stock, and display bakery products ensuring freshness and food safety.
• Prepare and bake items according to production schedules and standards.
• Operate POS systems and support efficient transactions.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products using FIFO methods.
• Collaborate with teammates to support store operations and a positive team environment.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and participate in trainings.
