Job summary

AMF Bakery Systems, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-speed bakery equipment, is seeking a Field Technician – Installation to install and commission AMF equipment at customer sites across North America. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical expertise, extensive travel, and close collaboration with project teams to ensure successful installations.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of field service experience in the food/bakery or packaging industry.
• Five (5) years of electrical and mechanical experience in a high-speed bakery or other automated process equipment environment.
• 75% travel required in North America and international.
• Proficiency with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk Optix.
• Programming capabilities and PLC understanding.
• Proficiency in power transmission parts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical circuits.
• Basic machining and fabrication skills for field modifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform Mechanical and Electrical installation and commissioning of AMF equipment
• Conduct inspections, repairs and maintenance of existing equipment
• Participate in installation planning and post-installation reporting
• Provide project action feedback using tools and templates
• Submit time and expense reports in assigned systems
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers and leads for clear communication
• Provide basic training to customer personnel on equipment maintenance
• Offer feedback to resolve technical and quality issues
• Support 1st Line Support Engineer to resolve customer issues
• Advise customers on parts, upgrades, and AMF Customer Care offerings
