Job summary

AMF Bakery Systems is seeking a Field Technician – Installation to perform mechanical and electrical installation and commissioning of AMF equipment at customer sites. The role also handles inspections, repairs and maintenance after installation.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of three years of experience in the commercial baking industry working on packaging, ovens and proofers, and is prepared for extensive travel across North America and international assignments.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of field service experience in the food/bakery or packaging industry.
• Five (5) years of electrical and mechanical experience in a high-speed bakery or other automated process equipment environment.
• 75% travel required in North America and international.
• Operating understanding of Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, Conveyors, PLCs, OITs, etc.
• Rockwell SLC-500, Panel View Logix 5000, Panel View Plus software knowledge; Siemens PLC knowledge a plus.
• Programming capabilities and ability to modify PLC logic as directed.
• Proficiency in power transmission parts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical circuits.
• Basic machine shop and fabrication skills for field modifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication with customers and team.

Responsibilities

• Perform Mechanical and Electrical installation and commissioning of AMF equipment
• Conduct inspections, repairs and maintenance of existing equipment
• Participate in installation work planning, pre- and post-installation meetings, and reporting
• Provide action points on project lists using assigned tools and templates
• Submit time and expense reports through the systems
• Interact with project managers, engineers and installation leads for clear communication and continuous improvement
• Provide basic training to customer personnel on maintenance and operation of AMF equipment
• Provide feedback to project team for resolving issues and improvements
• Support 1st Line Support Engineer to resolve customer issues
• Advise customers on parts, upgrades, and services and introduce Customer Care contacts
