Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a Bench Department Manager to supervise the bakery department, ensuring polite guest service, proper merchandising, and operational standards. You’ll train staff, manage inventory, and aim for budgeted sales and profits within a busy, family-owned grocery setting.

After training, you may be assigned to a department within 30 miles of your home. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety compliance, and ongoing development of department hosts.

Qualifications

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Knowledge of bakery operations.
• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Demonstrated ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Store Manager and Merchandiser.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure guests receive polite, friendly service from the bakery department staff.
• Achieve budgeted sales, shrink and profits for the bakery department.
• Maintain desired level of inventory and supplies.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational guidelines and programs.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to ensure bakery department hosts achieve satisfactory performance standards.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as necessary to achieve standards.
• Maintain department’s labor budget and scheduling standards.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
• Performs PA announcements.
