Job summary

SpartanNash in Carmel, IN is seeking a Bakery Manager to lead daily department operations, train staff, and ensure product freshness and safety compliance.

You will order inventory, review receipts, manage stocking and production tasks, and develop department goals while maintaining customer service and profitability. Strong communication and Word/Excel/PowerPoint proficiency are required; Spanish is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Spanish language skills desirable depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Order and maintain inventory in the department, ensuring product freshness and quality.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight, condition, and proper storage.
• Manage a team handling stocking, production, and related tasks to ensure quality, planning, accuracy, and rotation.
• Maintain familiarity with all products in the department and store.
• Follow scheduling, flight plan, and payroll controls per company guidance.
• Ensure food safety and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Attend daily huddles and manager meetings as required.
