• Set department performance goals and empower associates to meet targets.
• Develop scheduling to manage customer volume and ensure coverage.
• Train and participate in the performance appraisal process.
• Adhere to local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
• Inform customers of bakery specials and recommend items to meet needs.
• Gain knowledge of products sold in the department.
• Prepare bakery items per customer requests and offer samples.
• Provide customers with fresh products of correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Operate bakery equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Support store management in developing a department business plan.
• Prepare seasonal critiques for sales and merchandising supervisor.
• Monitor ads and inform associates about promotions.
• Monitor and control department expenses and assist with budget and financial reports.
• Schedule price changes and plan inventory processes.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperatures and records.
