Job summary

SpartanNash, part of a family of companies, is seeking a department lead in our South Bend area store. The role trips by managing inventory, scheduling staff, training associates, and meeting KPI targets while ensuring product freshness and safety.

You’ll oversee daily operations, communicate plans in huddles and with district and store leaders, and maintain an attractive, well-stocked department. Previous retail supervision and tech aptitude are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of retail experience preferred.
• One-year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and bookkeeping skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store.
• Order and maintain inventory, ensure product freshness and quality.
• Review received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team responsible for stocking, production and quality control.
• Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts.
• Ensure safety, food safety and store standards are followed.
