Job summary

The Fresh Market is seeking a Bakery Department Lead to support the Bakery Department Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience. You will lead your team with care, coach members, and ensure the department runs smoothly while maintaining high standards of hospitality.

You will monitor schedules, assist with inventory and merchandising, and act as a resource in the manager’s absence. Strong leadership and flexible availability are required.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of progressive management experience in supermarkets, retail, or related fields.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
• Proven ability to deliver an exceptional guest experience while achieving performance goals.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Basic proficiency with POS systems, scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Help monitor labor schedules to meet productivity and budget goals.
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels and support ordering.
• Act as a resource for team members in the manager’s absence.
• Model hospitality by engaging guests and creating positive experiences.
• Help implement merchandising strategies and promotional plans.
• Assist in analyzing department financial and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with department leaders to drive store success.
• Leverage technology to perform these tasks.
