Job summary

Meijer in Ohio is seeking a store leadership role to oversee daily operations across departments, driving sales, service, and safety. You will mentor staff, manage staffing, training, and performance, and implement development plans while upholding Meijer standards and community commitments.

In this role you will be responsible for staffing decisions, coaching teams, handling disciplinary actions when needed, and ensuring a positive store image through courteous service and efficient operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) and customer service experience.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly within the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial/statistical information for informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices safe work.
• Successful completion of all required certifications.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise team members in day-to-day store operations.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet customer service and sales goals.
• Staffing, selection, and hiring to meet staffing needs.
• Promote career paths and development; participate in promotions decisions.
• Document and apply disciplinary actions; advise on discharge when needed.
• Oversee P&L, achieve sales targets, and control shrink.
• Model fast, friendly, and effective customer service.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings.
• Ensure thorough training and adherence to standards.
• Spend majority of time in-store engaging with customers and staff.
• Promote a safe work environment and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
