Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company, based in Tyler, Texas, seeks an experienced Bakery & Deli Manager to oversee the bakery and deli departments, ensuring displays meet standards and customer service is exemplary.

You will lead partners, schedule work, and manage inventory while driving sales and profitability. The role requires strong leadership, food safety knowledge, and the ability to train and coach staff in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two or more years of related experience.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Manager Food Safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Interviewing, hiring, training, and developing partners; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining partners; scheduling, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
• Reviews historical data to predict future sales from ads and promotions; manages inventory using item management processes to ensure in-stock levels; reviews profit and loss, sales, shrink, and labor data; reports to upper management.
• Checks inventory on trucks, unloads products, and ensures accuracy of inventory, product ordering, and paperwork.
• Accountable for bakery and deli sales, labor, and meeting financial and profitability objectives.
• Enforces quality control and food safety standards and ensures dated products are stocked and rotated properly.
• Plans production schedules and sets priorities for department personnel based on workflow and forecasts.
• Assists with all aspects of food production including preparing, packaging, labeling, catering, and occasional delivery.
• Uses creativity to present bakery and deli items and promotes products through appealing displays.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment by following safety procedures.
• Provides friendly customer service by greeting customers and taking orders.
