Job summary

Kroger in Katy, TX is hiring a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to create outstanding customer experiences by preparing bakery and deli items, offering samples, and keeping the department clean and well stocked.

You will follow food safety rules, maintain temperatures, and assist the department manager in meeting sales and quality standards while delivering friendly, helpful service every day.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic math.
• Ability to obtain a current food handler permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Maintain proper temperatures and temperature logs.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Follow food safety regulations and safety procedures.
