Job summary

King Soopers is hiring a Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) to provide outstanding customer service and prepare bakery and deli items to meet customer requests. You will sample products, inform customers about specials, and ensure freshness and correct portions while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes using bakery equipment properly, following temperature logs and recipes, and assisting in merchandising, stocking and inventory control to support store goals.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size (or as close as possible).
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Use all bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand the store layout and be able to locate products on request.
• Stay current with ads and knowledge of products sold within the department.
• Maintain inventory/stock levels and note discrepancies.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained.
