Knowledge of basic math is required.
Ability to obtain a current food handler permit once employed.

Responsibilities

Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
Inform customers of bakery or deli specials.
Provide customers with fresh products ordered, with correct portion sizes.
Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
Measure, prepare and mix ingredients as per recipe.
Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
Report discrepancies to the department manager.
