Job summary

The Kroger bakery/deli department is seeking a Grocery Clerk to help prepare items, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. You will help the department hit sales goals while upholding quality standards and customer service across the Bakery/Deli area.

You will greet customers, offer samples, inform about specials, ensure accurate portions, labeling, and inventory, and follow safety guidelines to deliver a welcoming shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Willingness to obtain a food handler permit after employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer samples to help customers discover items they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet needs.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, slicers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients with kitchen utensils.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
