Training will cover equipment use, safety procedures, and temperature controls. Responsibilities include handling samples, identifying specials, stocking, and following recipes and logs.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills required.
• Clear communication in person and over the phone when assisting customers.
• Ability to perform basic math for transactions and portioning.
• Must obtain a current food handlers permit after hire.

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and ensure correct portion sizes.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens per guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Maintain temperatures in cases and coolers and log temperatures.
