Job summary

Responsibilities

• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Bakery/Deli Clerk should offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli/bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to logs and instructions.
• Measure, prepare and mix ingredients as per recipe.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory ingredients.
• Check product quality and review sell-by dates.
• Use kitchen equipment (stove, scales, fryer, steamer, etc.).
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies to the department manager.
• Understand store layout and locate products on request.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and temperature logs.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create welcoming environment and assist customers.
