Job summary

Kroger in Seattle is seeking a Grocery Clerk for the Bakery/Deli to deliver outstanding customer service, maintain a safe, clean department, and assist the department manager in achieving sales and quality goals.

You will prepare items to order, offer samples, promote bakery and deli specials, ensure correct portions and freshness, use equipment safely, and uphold food safety standards while helping customers with questions.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills and ability to assist shoppers.
• Effective communication and math skills for POS and transactions.
• Possession of a current food handler permit upon employment.
• Bakery or deli experience is preferred.
• Retail experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
• Offer samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery/deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products and correct portions.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Use bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs for safety.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
• Assist customers with product questions and maintain store cleanliness.
