Job Responsibilities:
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items based on customer needs.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
- Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
- Use kitchen equipment properly, including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
- Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
- Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
- Maintain knowledge of department products to assist and advise customers.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
- Foster trust and respect among team members.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and making suggestions.
- Follow all food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions, and perform preventive maintenance.
- Report accidents involving customers or employees.
- Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
