Responsibilities include:

  • Offering product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
  • Providing fresh products as ordered, ensuring correct portions to prevent shrink.
  • Recommending bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
  • Using equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens safely and according to guidelines.
  • Preparing foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
  • Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients following recipes.
  • Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and products.
  • Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates.
  • Properly operating kitchen equipment like fryers, steamers, and scales.
  • Labeling, stocking, and inventory management.
  • Reporting discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
  • Understanding store layout to assist customers efficiently.
  • Staying current with ads and product knowledge to answer questions and make suggestions.
  • Maintaining inventory and temperature logs, ensuring proper storage conditions.
  • Promoting trust and respect among staff and creating a welcoming environment for customers.
  • Adhering to food safety and safety procedures, reporting unsafe conditions or accidents.
  • Inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Working cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
