Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients following recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise properly.
10. Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take appropriate action.
11. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
12. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping to the manager.
13. Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
14. Stay updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and promotional ads.
15. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
16. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
17. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers with logs.
18. Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued.
19. Follow all food safety regulations and guidelines.
20. Adhere to safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
21. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
22. Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
23. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
24. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
25. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
26. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
27. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
28. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
