Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
12. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
13. Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
14. Stay updated on current, seasonal, and promotional ads.
15. Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer inquiries.
16. Monitor inventory/stocking conditions and report discrepancies.
17. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, keeping logs.
18. Promote trust and respect among associates.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
22. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
23. Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
24. Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
25. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
26. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
27. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
28. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
29. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
