Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to customers to ensure they get what they want and need.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using various utensils and equipment.
9. Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc., properly.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to the manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products upon request.
15. Stay current with ads and promotions.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory conditions and note discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and keep logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
22. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
23. Notify management of accidents involving customers or employees.
24. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
25. Manage conflicts cooperatively and non-confrontationally.
26. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
27. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
28. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
29. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
