Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor all quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in the correct portion size to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens following company guidelines.
• Prepare foods according to food safety protocols and recipes.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take necessary actions.
• Maintain proper temperatures and logs for cases and coolers.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and report unsafe conditions.
• Assist customers and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Perform other duties as required to support the department.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills

• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit after employment
