• Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Providing customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
• Recommending deli or bakery items to meet customer needs.
• Using bakery equipment like refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens per company guidelines.
• Preparing foods according to temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients as per recipes.
• Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
• Checking product quality and freshness, reviewing 'sell by' dates, and taking appropriate action.
• Operating kitchen equipment such as stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
• Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
• Knowing the store layout and locating products for customers.
• Staying updated on current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
• Maintaining knowledge of department products and responding to customer questions with suggestions.
• Monitoring inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
