Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain current food handlers permit once employed

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
  2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
  3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
  4. Provide customers with fresh products that they have ordered and the correct portion size to prevent shrink.
  5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
  6. Use all bakery equipment according to company guidelines.
  7. Prepare foods according to food temperature logs and follow cooking instructions.
  8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
  9. Label, stock, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
  10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate actions.
  11. Properly use kitchen equipment like refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens.
  12. Maintain inventory and stock levels, and report discrepancies.
  13. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
  14. Stay current with store ads and promotions.
  15. Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
  16. Ensure proper temperatures are maintained in cases and coolers, and logs are kept.
  17. Promote trust and respect among associates.
  18. Create a welcoming environment for customers.
  19. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  20. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
  21. Inspect equipment and notify management of repairs needed.
  22. Report customer or employee accidents.
  23. Work cooperatively in high-paced and stressful environments.
  24. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
  25. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
  26. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
  27. Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
  28. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
