Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety guidelines, including temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients as per recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality, review 'sell by' dates, and take necessary actions.
• Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions and suggestions.
• Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain temperature logs.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards, including safe equipment operation and reporting unsafe conditions.
• Assist in inventory management and stock replenishment.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts professionally.
• Provide support and assistance to diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with disabilities, and seniors.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills

• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handler's permit upon employment
