Responsibilities include:
- Offering product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Informing customers of bakery and deli specials.
- Providing customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommending bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
- Using bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Preparing foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measuring, preparing, and mixing ingredients per recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Packaging, labeling, and inventorying ingredients and merchandise.
- Checking product quality, reviewing expiration dates, and taking appropriate actions.
- Properly using kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, and robots.
- Labeling, stocking, and inventorying department merchandise.
- Reporting discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
- Understanding store layout to locate products for customers.
- Staying current with advertisements and promotions.
- Maintaining product knowledge to respond to customer questions and make suggestions.
- Monitoring inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
- Ensuring proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Promoting trust and respect among colleagues.
- Creating a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions and providing assistance.
- Adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Reinforcing safety procedures, identifying unsafe conditions, and notifying management.
- Practicing preventive maintenance and inspecting equipment, reporting repairs.
