Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to customers to promote new or inquired about items.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to meet customer needs.
• Operate bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods as instructed.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
• Label, stock, and inventory ingredients and products.
• Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
• Maintain store layout knowledge and assist customers in locating products.
• Stay updated on store promotions and product knowledge.
• Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among staff.
• Follow all food safety and safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
• Manage conflicts cooperatively and act with integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without accommodations.

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer service skills

• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handler’s permit upon employment
