Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

1. Grocery Clerk (Bakery/Deli) will prepare items per customer requests using proper bakery equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to company guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following food temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality for freshness, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
11. Properly use kitchen equipment like stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the manager.
14. Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
15. Stay updated with current, upcoming, seasonal, and special ads.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers, making them feel valued.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
21. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and report them.
22. Inspect equipment regularly and notify management of repairs needed.
23. Report customer or employee accidents.
24. Work cooperatively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
25. Manage conflicts calmly and cooperatively.
26. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
27. Follow directions and seek help when needed.
28. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
29. Perform all essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications
