Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
- Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates.
- Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
- Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
- Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
- Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and seasonal items.
- Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
- Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
- Create a welcoming environment and promote trust among customers and staff.
- Follow all food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions.
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
- Handle customer and employee accidents appropriately.
- Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
- Manage conflicts cooperatively and maintain honesty and integrity.
- Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
- Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications

- Effective communication skills
- Basic math knowledge
- Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment
