Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products in correct portions to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend bakery or deli items to ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Label, package, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality and freshness, reviewing "sell by" dates.
11. Properly operate kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
12. Maintain inventory and stock levels, report discrepancies.
13. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
14. Stay informed about current and upcoming promotions and seasonal items.
15. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
16. Ensure proper storage temperatures and maintain logs.
17. Create a welcoming environment and promote trust among customers and staff.
18. Follow all food safety and safety procedures, report unsafe conditions.
19. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
20. Handle customer and employee accidents appropriately.
21. Work effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
22. Manage conflicts cooperatively and maintain honesty and integrity.
23. Assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults as needed.
24. Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
