Responsibilities
- Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
- Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
- Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
- Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
- Recommend products to ensure customers get what they want and need.
- Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
- Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
- Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
- Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
- Check product quality and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate actions.
- Properly use kitchen equipment and maintain safety standards.
- Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
- Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
- Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
- Stay current with ads and promotions.
- Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
- Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.
- Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
- Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
- Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
- Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
- Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
- Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
Qualifications
