Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Responsibilities

1. Prepare bakery and deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products and correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend products to ensure customers get what they want and need.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients according to recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality and review "sell by" dates, taking appropriate actions.
11. Properly use kitchen equipment and maintain safety standards.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
14. Understand store layout to locate products for customers.
15. Stay current with ads and promotions.
16. Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions with suggestions.
17. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.
18. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust among associates.
20. Adhere to food safety regulations and safety procedures.
21. Inspect equipment and report repairs needed.
22. Notify management of accidents or unsafe conditions.
23. Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment, managing conflicts professionally.
24. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
25. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
26. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
27. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
