Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery/deli items according to customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer samples to help customers discover new products.
3. Inform customers about bakery/deli specials.
4. Provide fresh, correctly portioned products to customers to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend items to ensure customer satisfaction.
6. Use bakery equipment following safety and operational guidelines.
7. Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods as instructed.
8. Measure and prepare ingredients per recipes, using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Package, label, and inventory ingredients and products.
10. Check product quality, review expiration dates, and take appropriate actions.
11. Properly use all kitchen equipment and maintain cleanliness.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping.
14. Understand store layout and assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay updated on current and upcoming promotions and ads.
16. Maintain knowledge of products and respond to customer inquiries.
17. Monitor inventory levels and note discrepancies.
18. Ensure proper temperature maintenance in cases and coolers, and log temperatures.
19. Create a welcoming environment for customers and promote trust and respect among staff.
20. Adhere to food safety, safety procedures, and report unsafe conditions or accidents.
21. Perform preventive maintenance and notify management of equipment issues.
22. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
23. Manage conflicts professionally and act with honesty and integrity.
24. Follow directions and seek help when needed to resolve issues.
25. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and seniors.
26. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
