Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer Service skills

Essential Job Functions:

1. Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
2. Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
3. Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
4. Provide customers with fresh products they ordered, ensuring correct portion sizes to prevent shrinkage.
5. Recommend deli or bakery items to customers to meet their needs.
6. Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
7. Follow food safety and temperature logs, and prepare foods following cooking instructions.
8. Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients using appropriate utensils and equipment.
9. Properly package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
10. Check product quality, review "sell by" dates, and take appropriate action.
11. Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly.
12. Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise accurately.
13. Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping to management.
14. Understand store layout to assist customers in locating products.
15. Stay current with store promotions, ads, and product knowledge.
16. Maintain inventory and stock conditions, noting discrepancies.
17. Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers, maintaining logs.
18. Create an environment where customers feel welcome and valued.
19. Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
20. Follow safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
21. Inspect equipment regularly and report repairs needed.
22. Report customer or employee accidents promptly.
23. Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
24. Manage conflicts professionally and cooperatively.
25. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
26. Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve issues.
27. Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
