Job Description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all quality assurance standards. Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery/deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or inquire about products.
• Inform customers of bakery and/or deli specials.
• Provide customers with fresh products ordered and in correct portions to prevent shrink.
• Recommend bakery or deli items to customers.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Prepare foods following temperature logs and cooking instructions.
• Measure, prepare, and mix ingredients per recipes using kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Package, label, and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Check product quality and review "sell by" dates.
• Properly use kitchen equipment including stoves, scales, fryers, steamers, etc.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report discrepancies in product ordering/shipping.
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers.
• Stay current with ads and promotions.
• Maintain product knowledge and respond to customer questions.
• Monitor inventory and stocking conditions.
• Ensure proper temperature maintenance and log keeping.
• Create a welcoming environment for customers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Inspect equipment and report repairs.
• Report customer or employee accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced environment.
• Manage conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
