Job summary

Brookshire Grocery Company is seeking a part-time Decorator to plan and decorate bakery products, assist with daily bakery operations, and provide outstanding customer service. You’ll prep, ice, and decorate cakes and other baked goods, ensuring color accuracy and presentation.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to work under time pressure, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Food handler certification is required and on-the-job training is typical.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or GED and six months of related experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age to operate or clean equipment.
• Food Handler certification required.
• Decorator certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, ices, and decorates cakes and other baked goods for display or customer requests.
• Traces and copies drawings onto cakes by template or free-hand sketches.
• Identifies, matches, and blends icing colors; assesses color, texture, aroma, flavor, and taste.
• Selects decorating materials and tools; makes quick decisions under time pressure.
• Cleans, assembles, and prepares equipment; ensures working order under supervision.
• Stays current with cake decorating trends and plans production with seasons and events.
• Inspects product for quality and food safety according to Company standards.
• Provides friendly, customer-service oriented interactions and fulfills requests.
