Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Bakery Clerk to join our bakery team. You will greet customers, take orders at the bakery counter, and help stock and replenish products to ensure freshness and presentation. The role emphasizes friendly service, teamwork, and adherence to sanitation standards in a fast-paced store setting.

You will work closely with store personnel, operate the bakery registers, and support daily production needs while maintaining high standards of customer care and safety.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow detailed but simple written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to do simple arithmetic for transactions and counting.
• Capable of standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 pounds when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service in the bakery area.
• Greet customers and assist them in finding items.
• Assist with stocking, rotating, and replenishing bakery products to ensure freshness.
• Operate registers, handle payments, and manage basic cash handling.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas in compliance with sanitation procedures.
• Assist in other store areas as needed and follow store policies.
