Job summary

Hy-Vee in Eau Claire, WI is seeking a Bakery Clerk to join the bakery team. You’ll greet customers, help with product selection, and assist with baking and replenishment. This role supports the department's daily operations in a fast-paced store bakery environment.

No prior experience is required; we will train you. You’ll follow sanitation standards, maintain a clean workspace, and work with teammates to ensure a friendly, efficient customer experience.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Active listening and clear communication with customers.
• Basic math for transactions and counting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers warmly and making them feel welcome in the bakery.
• Assist customers with finding products, reaching items, carrying heavy purchases, and taking orders at the bakery counter.
• Review daily orders and monitor product freshness, appearance, and supply levels throughout your shift.
• Prepare, finish, and replenish baked goods as needed, pulling product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for baking.
• Follow and maintain proper sanitation procedures, keeping your work area clean and organized at all times.
• Operate the department register to process payments where applicable.
