Job summary

Balls Food Stores' bakery team seeks a friendly, dependable Bakery Clerk who enjoys helping guests and delivering fresh, high-quality pastries. You’ll package pastries, assist selections, and ensure displays are full, clean, and visually appealing.

In a fast-paced, team-focused setting, you’ll support store operations by providing excellent guest hospitality, stocking and merchandising, and following safety standards while maintaining product quality and presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in grocery, retail, or food service environments.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Experience with food preparation, baking, or kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, slicers).

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly service and maintain product presentation and department standards.
• Deliver helpful, respectful service to ensure a positive shopping experience and encourage repeat business.
• Package, label, stock, and display bakery products while maintaining quality and freshness.
• Prepare and bake items such as donuts, pastries, and cookies per production schedules and standards.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with sanitation guidelines.
• Assist guests with product selection, allergen information, and special orders.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise using FIFO to minimize waste and ensure good presentation.
• Operate POS systems, scales, and related equipment accurately to support transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with teammates across departments to support store operations and a positive environment.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and participate in trainings and ongoing development.
• Remain productive during slower periods by cleaning, restocking, or supporting other areas.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

Minimum Qualifications:
