Job summary

Hen House is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk who enjoys assisting guests and delivering fresh pastries. You’ll help with packaging, product displays, and ensuring clean, inviting bakery areas.

You will work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment, supporting store operations and daily tasks to ensure a great guest experience and quality products.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience in grocery, retail, or food service environments preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards preferred.
• Experience with food preparation, baking, or kitchen equipment (ovens, fryers, slicers) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support exceptional guest hospitality by providing friendly service, maintaining product presentation and department standards, and completing daily tasks that contribute to efficient store operations and sales growth.
• Deliver friendly, helpful, and respectful service to ensure a positive shopping experience and encourage repeat business.
• Package, label, stock, and display bakery products while maintaining quality, freshness, and food safety standards.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in alignment with sanitation and food safety guidelines.
• Assist guests with product selection, recommendations, allergen information, and special orders.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise products using FIFO methods to minimize waste and maintain presentation.
• Operate POS systems, scales, and related equipment accurately to support efficient transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate product needs, shortages, or quality concerns.
• Collaborate with teammates across departments to support store operations and a positive team environment.
• Follow company policies, safety standards, and expectations, including participation in trainings and ongoing development.
• Remain productive during slower periods by cleaning, restocking, or supporting other areas of the store.
