Moser's Grocery Store in Ashland, MO is hiring a part-time Bakery Clerk to prepare, bake, and display fresh bakery items, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, bake, and package bakery items according to recipes and standards.
• Decorate and display finished bakery goods.
• Assist customers with orders, including special requests and recommendations.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and freshness standards.
• Rotate stock and monitor inventory using FIFO procedures.
• Operate bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, proofers) and POS.
• Support promotions and attractive bakery displays.
• Keep the bakery area clean and organized.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, bake, and package bakery products according to recipes and quality standards


• Decorate and display finished bakery items


• Assist customers with orders, including special orders and product recommendations


• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and freshness standards


• Rotate stock and monitor inventory using FIFO procedures


• Operate bakery equipment including ovens, proofers, and mixers


• Operate cash register (POS) and handle transactions accurately


• Support promotions, upselling, and bakery displays


• Maintain a clean, organized bakery and food prep area

What We're Looking For

• Previous bakery, cake decorating, food service, or retail experience preferred


• Strong customer service and communication skills


• Basic math and cash handling skills


• Ability to follow recipes, food safety, and sanitation procedures


• Willingness to learn bakery equipment and operations


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)


• Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store bakery and deli environment


• Exposure to hot baking equipment and cold storage areas


• Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
