Job summary

Fiesta Mart in Houston is hiring a Bakery Clerk to support the Bakery department with friendly customer service, order intake, and display maintenance. Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, you will help with special orders, assist customers, and ensure shelves and displays are clean and stocked.

The role involves lifting up to 60 pounds, standing for long periods, and working in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co‑workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide helpful customer service in the bakery and assist customers with purchases.
• Clean shelving and display cases; rotate and restock displays.
• Take special orders and coordinate with the Baker for items to bake or decorate.
• Assist in department cleaning and sanitation as described in the job description.
