Job summary

The Fresh Grocer in the PA/NJ Tri-State area is seeking a Bakery Associate to support the Bakery Manager with daily operations, pricing, stocking and merchandising. You will help maintain a neat, clean, visually appealing department and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Responsibilities include rotating stock, stocking shelves, greeting customers, handling products with care, following sanitation guidelines, and collaborating with team members.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Basic math skills required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products and spices.
• Maintain sanitation and QA standards.
• Customer friendly interpersonal skills.
• Work cooperatively with others.
• Must adhere to all schedules and attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize all work surfaces, utensils and equipment in accordance with standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Rotate product to ensure freshness.
• Ensure accurate signage for the department.
• Dress and groom according to Company policy.
• Follow QA hand washing standards and use disposable gloves when handling food.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to Bakery Department weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Stand at workstation for duration of scheduled shift and work overtime as needed.
