Job summary

ShopRite of West Chester is seeking a Bakery Associate to support the daily operation of the Bakery Department. You will price, stock, rotate merchandise, and maintain a neat, clean, and visually appealing department while delivering a great customer experience.

Responsibilities include adhering to QA and safety standards, assisting with labeling and signage, and working with the team to meet store goals. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand English.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and lift 25 lbs, up to 50 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products and spices.
• Ability to maintain department sanitation and QA standards.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned schedules and comply with attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment per QA standards.
• Keep floor clear of debris and spills.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service.
• Rotate products to ensure freshness.
• Ensure accurate signage for the department.
• Handle pricing and stocking duties for bakery items.
• Follow safety, QA and company policies in all tasks.
• Wear company uniform and hygiene requirements.
• Assist other departments when instructed.
• Work overtime as needed by the business.
