You will support the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals while following quality standards, handle daily bakery tasks, promote products, and uphold Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Qualifications

• Outstanding customer service and a friendly, helpful demeanor.
• Ability to assist customers with product information and recommendations.
• Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced retail bakery.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and handling practices.
• Strong math skills for transactions and portion control.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Bakery Clerk will prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials and promotions.
• Provide fresh, correctly portioned products to meet customer orders.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and safety procedures.
