Kroger's Bakery Clerk role focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through service and product knowledge. You will prepare items per customer requests using bakery equipment, offer samples, and promote bakery specials, ensuring freshness and accurate portions.

You will also maintain safety, temperature logs, and inventory, while engaging customers with product recommendations and a welcoming store presence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Understand food production processes and basic cooking techniques.
• Effective communication skills and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
• Good basic math skills for transactions and measurements.
• Ability to obtain a current food handlers permit once employed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover items.
• Inform customers of bakery specials.
• Provide fresh products and correct portion sizes as ordered.
• Recommend bakery items to meet customer needs and preferences.
• Use bakery equipment (refrigerators, freezers, ovens) per guidelines.
• Follow recipe instructions and maintain proper temperatures and cooking/baking logs.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise and note discrepancies.
