Job summary

El Super is seeking a Bakery Clerk in Pico Rivera, CA to deliver friendly, courteous service in the bakery and support daily operations. The role reports to the Bakery Manager and involves assisting customers, handling special orders, and maintaining clean, stocked displays in a fast-paced store.

Starting rate is $16.90 per hour. The position requires Food Handler certification awareness and physical ability to lift up to 60 pounds; prior retail service experience is a plus.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and performs various tasks within the bakery. The role includes:

• Providing friendly, courteous, and helpful service to customers in the bakery department.
• Assisting customers with bakery purchases and special orders.
• Cleaning shelving and display cases, filling and rotating self‑serve displays.
• Working with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated.
• Assisting in department cleaning, including hosing down floors with soap and water.
• Operating in a fast–paced grocery store environment, lifting, standing, walking and kneeling as needed.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to preparation, handling and serving food.
