Job summary

El Super is seeking a friendly Bakery Clerk for store #56 in Corona, CA. You will help customers, take special orders, and keep bakery displays clean and well-stocked.

Under supervision from the Bakery Manager, you’ll collaborate with the bakery team, assist with decorating and baking decisions, and ensure food safety practices are followed. Prior experience is welcome, and a Food Handler Card may be required.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions and labels.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information clearly in small group settings.
• Follow written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, provide customer service and perform bakery tasks.
• Clean, fill, and rotate self-serve displays in front of store and bakery.
• Assist customers with bakery purchases and take special orders.
• Collaborate with the baker to determine which items may need baking or decorating.

The Opportunity

Under direct supervision from the Bakery Manager, the Bakery Clerk provides customer service and conducts various tasks within the bakery. The Bakery Clerk provides friendly, courteous, and helpful service to the Bakery department. They will assist customers with bakery purchases, clean shelving and display cases. They clean, fill, and rotate the self‑serve displays that are both in the front of the store and adjacent to the store bakery. The Bakery Clerk will work with customers to take special orders. They will also work with the Baker to determine which items may need to be baked or decorated. This position will also help in the department cleaning by hosing down the floors with soap and water to ensure the department cleanliness.

Food Handler Card or its equivalent certification is required for all positions related to: preparation, handling and serving food.
