Responsibilities

At Sprouts Farmers Market, the Bakery Clerk is responsible for:

• Preparing and packaging all baked goods
• Assisting the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
• Providing high-level customer service and ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, presented, and the area remains clean
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of the bakery area and equipment
• Stocking, filling, facing, and ensuring pricing accuracy; monitoring product rotation and discarding outdated items
• Receiving, inspecting, and logging products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality

Qualifications

To qualify as a Bakery Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent, and have 1-2 years of bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
• Be dependable, reliable, and flexible with working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Possess outgoing, friendly behavior, a positive attitude, and strong communication skills
• Be able to answer phones, take special orders, and perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties
• Operate bakery equipment safely and accurately
• Stand for up to 3 hours continuously and perform physical tasks such as lifting trays up to 5 lbs., and transferring items up to 40 lbs.
• Adhere to safety, health, and regulatory standards, and maintain a Food Handlers permit
