Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Deli Bakery team member to provide quality customer service and maintain department standards. You will assist with product preparation, sanitation, and proper handling to ensure safe, fresh offerings for customers.

The role emphasizes fast, friendly service, accurate order fulfillment, and adherence to company policies and food safety guidelines in a store environment. Candidates should meet age requirements and be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience.
• Courteous and helpful to other associates.
• Understand the use of ingredients, mixes, and icings and coordinates colors.
• Understand production standards for processing of all product.
• Follow all technical manuals for processing of product, label placement, etc.
• Ensure proper sanitation of department, equipment and proper food handling/preparation.
• Ordering, receiving, preparation, conditioning and displaying of merchandise in accordance with policies and guidelines.
• Maintain understanding and adherence to company guidelines, policies and standard practice.
• Understand and follow Food Safety and Workplace Safety guidelines and procedures.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions; report accidents per procedures.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
