BAKERY/CAKE DECORATOR (Finance)

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department and monitor all established quality assurance standards. Minimum Qualifications:

• Retail experience
• Bakery/cake decorating experience
• Ability to handle stressful situations
• Basic math knowledge
• Effective communication skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Second language proficiency (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
• Create an inviting environment for customers by answering questions about products and providing suggestions
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department
• Offer samples and prepare bakery items, including wedding cakes, per customer requests
• Recommend bakery items to customers to meet their needs
• Check product quality, review sell-by dates, and use bakery equipment properly
• Decorate cakes, pastries, cupcakes, cookies, and other bakery items
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise
• Report discrepancies in product ordering or shipping
• Understand store layout and locate products for customers
• Maintain awareness of inventory and stock conditions
• Adhere to health, safety, and civil regulations
• Follow merchandising, customer service, labor control, and safety protocols
• Practice safety by complying with procedures and reporting hazards
• Perform preventive maintenance and report equipment issues
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents
